MEET TAMAR
A former chemist-turned-chef, Tamar Wiener’s passion for experimentation and research combined with her love for delicious desserts led her to become the baking powerhouse she is today. Her love for science and baking originated from her mother and first mentor, Dr. Frida Beatriz Pesotchinski Zipkin, Ph.D. From a young age, Tamar recalls standing on a stool near the kitchen counter watching her mother prepare items from scratch, asking her questions all along the way. For every birthday her mother would go above and beyond to bake delicious, incredibly designed cakes so her children could celebrate with love.
Sadly, Tamar’s mother passed away in May 2018, and one of her last memories is celebrating her 27th birthday together just two weeks before. After that, Tamar’s goal became very clear: to pursue her future in Israel, and to keep that memory of her last birthday celebration with her mother alive forever. Chef Tamar created Beatriz Bakery to dedicate her culinary career to celebrating those around her, just as her mother would.
